Why Beyoncé works
The theme that
runs the world.
Of all the hen party dance classes in Plymouth we teach, Beyoncé is the one that flips a switch in people. Someone who arrived apologising for their two left feet is, forty minutes later, hitting a hair flick with total conviction. The choreography borrows the iconic moments — the Single Ladies hand, the strut, the bounce from Crazy in Love — and rebuilds them at a speed a room full of beginners can genuinely nail.
Your choreographer teaches attitude first, steps second, because that's the Beyoncé secret: commit to the sass and the moves follow. The routine snaps together in a triangle formation with the bride out front where Bey herself would stand, and the finish is engineered to look outrageous on camera. If your group's energy is more girl-band-reunion, the Spice Girls theme is your natural home; if you want that music-video sharpness without one artist attached, Commercial delivers it.
It's a brilliant fit for hens who want a proper challenge worth showing off — the kind of group that rewatches the finale video over cocktails the same night. Plymouth suits it too: a studio in the centre, sea air on the Hoe to cool down with afterwards, and everything else within a strut. More than a few of our Beyoncé brides have gone on to book wedding dance lessons in Plymouth with us, having discovered mid-hair-flick that choreography is actually their thing.

Hour by hour
How the Beyoncé
hour builds.
Attitude comes first: a warm-up of struts, shoulder pops and eye-contact drills that has the whole room laughing and — crucially — committing. Then the routine arrives in eight-count blocks, starting with the Single Ladies motif everybody secretly already half-knows.
Each block gets drilled until it's tight, then stacked onto the last, and the formation shifts so the bride ends up front and centre for the chorus. With the ninety-minute session there's time for a second song's worth of material, extra polish and a filmed finale run that gets an encore roughly one hundred per cent of the time.
Word from the formation
Reviews with
attitude.
"We came in giggling and left FIERCE. The Beyoncé routine was harder than expected and better than we dreamed — the video is unreal."
"Our instructor had ten of us doing the Single Ladies routine inside an hour. My cheeks hurt from grinning."
"Booked Beyoncé for my sister's hen and it was the highlight of the whole weekend — even the sceptics were flicking their hair by the end."
"Fierce doesn't cover it. Ten out of ten."
Beyoncé specifics
Quick answers,
Beyoncé edition.
Everything groups ask before booking the Beyoncé theme in Plymouth — anything we have missed, send it over with your enquiry.
01Do we get a say in the Beyoncé setlist?
Single Ladies is the runaway favourite, with Crazy in Love and Run the World close behind. Tell us the bride's pick in your enquiry and we'll choreograph to that — one main track fills the hour, and the ninety-minute session has room for a second.
02Is the routine too hard for beginners?
It looks harder than it is — that's the trick. We slow every move down, drill it in chunks and lean on attitude to carry the rest, so total beginners finish the hour dancing something that genuinely resembles the video.
03What should we wear?
Anything you can move in with confidence — leggings, trainers and whatever level of sparkle your group fancies. We don't provide costumes or accessories, so matching outfits are yours to organise and entirely optional.
04Can the bride lead the formation?
That's exactly how we build it. The bride takes Beyoncé's spot at the front of the triangle with her hens as backing dancers — and if she'd rather hide in the middle row, that works too. Her call entirely.
05Can we film ourselves being Beyoncé?
Please do — the final run-through is designed for it. We'll set aside time at the end, suggest the best angle in the room, and run the finale more than once so every phone gets its footage.
06Where in Plymouth will we be dancing?
In a studio we hire in Plymouth city centre, handy for hotels, restaurants and the rest of your plans. We confirm the exact venue with your booking — and if your group's staying somewhere with generous floor space, we can bring the class to you.
