The closing stretch stages the full number: verses shared out, the bride installed as leading lady, and a finish designed for a slow-motion camera pan. 01Which numbers from the show do we dance?
The big three tend to dominate: All That Jazz for glamour, Cell Block Tango for theatrical menace, and When You're Good to Mama when a group wants pure sass. Tell us the bride's favourite in your enquiry and the choreography gets built around it.
02We can't dance — is Fosse style beyond us?
Quite the opposite: Fosse made a whole career out of small, controlled movements that anyone can physically do. A shoulder roll, a knee turn, a held pose — the difficulty is in the attitude, not the athletics, and attitude gets coached into the room within the first two tracks.
03What should we wear to feel the part?
Black is the unofficial uniform — leggings or shorts with anything sparkly on top instantly reads as Chicago. If your group owns feather boas, fishnets or sequinned headbands, pack them; we don't provide any dress-up items, so the glamour arrives in your bags. Flat shoes or low heels both work.
04How much limelight does the bride get in the Chicago class?
She's Roxie — that's non-negotiable. The number is staged so the ensemble frames her: she gets the centre spot, the last word of the tango line and the final pose. If she'd rather share top billing with her maid of honour, we'll happily write a double act.
05Can someone film the final Chicago performance?
Please do — the final performance is designed to be filmed, and your instructor will happily run it more than once so phones can capture different angles. Some groups appoint a camerawoman for the day; others prop a phone on a speaker and let it roll.
06Where in Plymouth does the show go on?
