Why the Swiftie theme works
A theme for
every era.
Some hen groups need persuading onto the dance floor. Swiftie groups need holding back. When the opening bars of Shake It Off land, the room is already moving — our choreographer just channels that energy into an actual routine. Quick honesty first: we're independent of Taylor Swift and her team, and this session is our own tribute to the songs. It has become one of the fastest-growing requests across our hen party dance classes in Plymouth, driven mostly by brides who never stopped streaming. Age barely matters either — the discography has run long enough that the bride's little cousin and her future mother-in-law both own an era, even if neither would admit it's the same one.
The routine itself hops between moods the way the discography does — a bouncy 22 section, a Love Story sway with full hand-on-heart drama, a Shake It Off finale that empties whatever is left in the tank. Nothing needs prior training; it needs commitment, which Swifties supply in bulk. If your group's pop loyalties are divided, our Ariana Grande theme settles one argument and the 2000s party settles the rest. Lyrics count as choreography here, by the way: a chorus belted at full volume covers a multitude of footwork sins, which is why Swiftie groups consistently produce our best final videos.
Sessions run in the city centre with the Sound a short wander away, so the afternoon flows naturally from routine to waterfront to wherever the evening takes the setlist. Bring the friendship bracelets you've made, swap them at the end, and expect at least one hen to announce she's joining our weekly dance classes in Plymouth on the strength of one chorus. It happens more than you'd think. Groups often theme the whole day around the session — bracelets in the morning, routine in the afternoon, playlist takeover at dinner — and the class slots neatly into whichever running order the maid of honour has laminated.

The warm-up doubles as a singalong — nobody stays self-conscious past the first chorus. Choreography then arrives era by era: the bounce section first because it's the easiest win, the slower swaying passage next to catch everyone's breath, each piece looped until muscle memory takes over from counting.
Then the sections join hands into one full performance, bride at the centre of every formation change. Book the ninety-minute version and you gain time for a bonus track, extra polish and as many filmed finales as the group's lungs will allow.

Shake It Off, 22 and Love Story anchor most sessions because they choreograph like a dream, but the setlist flexes. List the bride's top three in your enquiry — deep cuts included — and we'll build what we can around them.
02Is this connected to Taylor Swift officially?
No — no link to Taylor Swift, her label or her tour. It's our own choreographers' celebration of the music, inspired by the songs your group already loves. The enthusiasm, however, is entirely authentic.
03Half our group can't dance at all — problem?
Not remotely — knowing the words matters far more here than knowing any steps. The moves are simple, repeated and carried along by songs everyone can belt out, so the weakest dancer in the group still looks great mid-chorus.
04Can we come dressed in our eras?
Absolutely — if each hen arrives as a different album in outfits you've pulled together yourselves, the final video becomes a museum piece. Practically speaking, just make sure everyone can move and see: comfy shoes under the sparkle.
05Does the bride get a special moment?
She's the main character by design — front of every formation, a solo hand-heart moment, and the group circling her for the final chorus. Tell us whether she loves or dreads attention and we'll set the dial accordingly.
